When do you need a permit?
A Special Use Permit is required for weddings, elopements, vow renewals and other ceremonies inside Rocky Mountain National Park. If you have 2 or more individuals participating in the activity you need a permit.
When can you apply
You can apply for a permit 1 year in advance of your desired wedding month. Applications begin the first of the month & are reviewed on a first come-first serve basis. Ceremonies cannot be scheduled within less than 7 days from your desired event date.

Steps to Obtain Permit
Step 1: Complete the Application

Make sure to fill out all the necessary information so that your application can be processed. Not filling out everything might result in delays or having to start all over.
Step 2: Submit Application
Once you fill out the application, you must email it to romo_fees_permits@nps.gov
Applications are NOT accepted mailed, faxed or through the phone.
Step 3: Park reviews, drafts your permit & payment submission
The park will review your application (7-10 days after you submit it) and will reach out via email with a draft payment. This is when you ensure that everything looks good and you will be given instructions on how to submit your payment of $300. This is non-refundable.
Step 4: Final Permit
The final permit will be emailed to you if everything looks good after Step 3. You can then print the permit or keep a digital copy on your phone. You must carry it at all times.
